Asking Big Questions
In my youth, I was often known as “that kid” who asked way too many questions in class. Each answer was met with a question, another answer, another question and so forth. I have always sought to understand each topic presented to me to the fullest extent, and what easier way than to ask the experts?
I have always found this mentality valuable, as the more one understands surrounding sub-topics, the more in-depth your knowledge becomes. This depth allows you to focus on the whole and become your own expert, as you are able to dive into questions and fill your own knowledge gaps. Allowing your natural curiosity to flow and continuing to ask questions helps maintain one’s ever-expanding tree of knowledge. No question is too odd.
Good Vibes and Hard Work
About 14 years ago I had an opportunity to help with the production of Antiques Roadshow, a GBH-produced program aired on PBS. Over the years, I have continued to support production each summer and grown to the role of Assistant Production Supervisor. The Antiques Roadshow team taught me the importance of strong, positive morale throughout the workday, as each team member supports one another through long, tiring 15-hour filming days. This same positivity is how I help lead around 100 volunteers each day of filming, and it has really taught me how to positively motivate a team towards achieving one goal together.
This important experience has significantly shaped the ideology of my leadership. The reality is, work can be tiresome; Pushing through as a team with a smile on our faces will keep all our heads high as we continue forward. Morale is, and will always be, one of the most important aspects of any workspace.

Embracing The R.S. Hughes Way
I joined the R. S. Hughes family just over 5 years ago on a whim. At the time, I was intrigued by the opportunity to dip my toe in many facets of the business. I quickly embraced the open culture which encourages all team members to share their voice and see direct results from their efforts. This teamwork-oriented stance is what I feel makes R. S. Hughes stand out from the crowd; Anyone, at any time, can raise their hand and ask questions that can initiate real change.
The ability to be heard and influence change within the workplace holds true value for me. Leveraging this ability, alongside my drive for positivity, I have worked hard towards supporting strong team morale wherever possible. Whether bringing in lunch for the team, arranging a team outing or simply sitting down to hear feedback from a team member, I’m proud to help sustain a morale-focused workplace.

Core Values Mean the World
All companies have a mission statement, but not all can confidently present values that have a meaningful impact on the world around them. Through R. S. Hughes’ Core Values, I strongly believe our team creates a positive influence on the world, and I am proud to be one of the many driving forces behind the cause.
Coupled with R. S. Hughes’ Core Values, I have been able to extend my expertise to impact beyond the company. Through strong morale and transparency, I have established and maintained many lasting customer relationships built on reliable added value. Asking questions has led to in-depth discussion around customer issues and has consistently allowed me to best serve each unique situation.
Taking a step back to reflect, it is hard to wrap my head around my journey thus far. It is amazing to look back on values I learned so long ago and realize they are still prominent in my work today. I am proud to be a part of this team and am excited to see how we further develop as we continue to hone in on excellence, together.
